Alnylam ERP System Upgrade

Challenge

Alnylam was in the process of implementing an ERP upgrade to SAP S4/HANA that would impact the entire enterprise. They already had a cross-team of resources and an extensive group of stakeholders. The challenge facing the client was that project documents, artifacts, and statuses were not being prepared properly nor communicated and distributed to the proper stakeholders. This led to project resource thrash and delivery delays. There was an immediate need for a project coordinator that understood the basics of project management, had strong administrative skills, and was a self-starter.

This upgrade also required careful attention to change management processes as two new workstreams, Order to Cash (OTC) and Record to Report (RTR) were being added and had the potential to create challenges as they were embedded into existing business processes.

Solution

Osprey provided a project coordinator with the ability to assess the magnitude of the situation, work cross-functionally with a diverse team, and implement administrative solutions that enabled the PMO to be more efficient.

 

Osprey’s Project Coordinator:

  • Established a process for capturing and distributing meeting notes to ensure open communication across levels
  • Presented weekly updates to the C-suite level of the organization
  • Created a Smart Sheet Dashboard System that provided actionable insights and overall project status
  • Coordinated communications to stakeholder groups across the globe
  • Helped establish project KPIs
  • Performed data validation for GxP-relevant documents using Veeva
  • Coordinated team events and onsite UAT testing, which involved making travel arrangements for employees around the world and establishing COVID testing protocols during the pandemic
